South Korea's appeals court has quashed a three year jail term handed to the chairman of Hyundai Motors for fraud.

The court instead imposed a suspended sentence, ordering Chung Moon-koo to do community service and to make a donation to charity.



Prosecutors were pushing for a six year term after Chung was found guilty in February of embezzling more than $100m. . . . . . . . . . . . .THE MONEY WAS USED TO BUY INFLUENCE IN BUSINESS DEALINGS WITH BANKS AND OTHER COMPANIES. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
