EARTH HOUR 27-3-10


So what exactly do we do when its the “earth hour”.

SIMPLE….

Just turn off your lightbulbs, laptops, computers, music systems, air-conditioners, fans, TVs, radios and just about anything that drinks electricity like a marathoner drinking water (what? Ever noticed a marathoner drinking water? half goes in his mouth and half is wasted.. same goes with any electrical device .. ).

This is a spectacular event when viewed from space and it would be great to get images from the International Space Station as and when countries in different time zones begin turning off their lights …. starting from Japan and ending with the USA.

The battle between as the world's largest retailer and those who oppose it constructing a new store on the site of one of the Civil War's largest and most important battles continues. DCist music editor Amanda Mattos reports that a letter signed by some 250 scholars, from Ken Burns to David McCullough, puts Wal-Mart on notice: "The Wilderness is an indelible part of our history, its very ground hallowed by the American blood spilled there, and it cannot be moved."
